Salary Min:$73,683.00 Salary Max: $135,228.00 OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY This position supports the Office of Charter School Compliance and Support’s efforts to effectively ensure the efficient fiscal management of M-DCPS sponsored charter schools and to collaborate with other District departments to meet the requirements of 1002.33 F.S., Charter Schools and applicable School Board policies, laws and regulations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES 1. Monitors, verifies, updates, analyzes and reconciles reports related to fiscal operation of charter schools. 2. Plans, coordinates and supervises the disbursem*nts of grants-related funds in collaboration with the district grants department and the Florida Department of Education. 3. Analyzes and evaluates financial reports to ensure that the charter schools’ financial management follows state statute and applicable School Board policies, Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). 4. Reviews and evaluates the feasibility and accuracy of annual budgets approved and submitted by the governing boards of charter schools at the beginning of the fiscal year. 5. Monitors the progress of charter schools deemed in financial emergency by the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Education to determine if the school is meeting the goals established in the financial recovery plan. 6. Oversees the preparation of summative reports for committee meetings on the general expenditures and allocations of charter school budgets. 7. Participates in committee meetings to determine if applicants demonstrate the capacity to successfully open and/or operate a quality charter school and provides technical support to applicants as needed. 8. Establishes strong working relationships with charter school principals and financial managers. 9. Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This work requires the following physical activities, sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field. 2. Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in financial-related area, administrative/supervisory experience preferred. 3. Experience working with school finances and performing data analysis preferred. 4. Proficiency with personal computers, especially spreadsheet programs, and school-based mainframe systems. 5.
