Job Posting Details

The application deadline is Friday, August 30, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. (EST). This is an MEP pay grade 21 position. Required Documents:

  2. Two (2) Professional Letters of Recommendation signed or electronic signature and dated within the last 12 months (one year) of the application. References must be from a person who can assess your ability as an administrator or your work ethic and character. Letters of recommendation must include the name, signature and contact information for the person completing the reference.

Administrative Questionnaire: Candidates must complete the Administrative Questionnaire in order to be considered for an interview. The Administrative Questionnaire is embedded in SuccessFactors and the three questions are as follows:

Performance Evaluations: Candidates selected for a final interview are required to have acceptable performance evaluations during the three years immediately preceding application for the position. You can upload these evaluations to your candidate profile.

Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position. Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

Salary Max: $145,835.00

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the Administrative Director, Office of School Leadership and Performance (OSLP), in the areas of Advocacy, Professional Development and Business Operations. Provides assistance to the Administrative Director, OSLP, in implementing District policy as it relates to their specific area of responsibility for the various organizational functions of School Operations.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

1. Assists the Administrative Director in providing information about Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ programs and services for students, which includes public information requests.

2. Assists in the monitoring of class size and ensures compliance.

3. Assists in the preparation of responses to Audit reports and assists with the professional development in response to audits.

4. Provides assistance and support to schools, students, parents, educators and citizens in mediating solutions to issues between the students, home and the school while addressing individual educational needs of students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

5. Assists the Administrative Director in supervising the assignment of employees on alternative assignments.

6. Assists the Administrative Director in providing support to schools and regional offices regarding facilities management.

7. Assists in developing plans for maintaining the effective operations of all schools within the Regional Center offices, i.e. review of master schedule.

8. Provides assistance to schools with initiatives related to student achievement.

9. Assists in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of all instructional programs and resources to ensure improvement of student performance.

10. Assists the Administrative Director in overseeing the management of grant funded programs and professional services contract agreements for all school sites.

11. Responds, maintains data, and provides status reports for all referrals, critical incident reports, and public information requests forwarded to the Administrative Director, Business.

12. Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Master’s degree in elementary or secondary education, certification in administration and/or supervision, or educational leadership, or a documented approved plan to achieve such certification within two (2) years.

2. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.

3. Minimum of two (2) years as a department chairperson or other leadership experience preferred.

4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
