- 2024-25 Schedule CANYON, Texas –
"We are excited about our 2024-25 schedule, it is very challenging and it will get us ready for the grind of the Lone Star Conference. Starting the season in Tucson against the Arizona Wildcats is always a thrill as our players have the chance to battle one of the top programs in the country in a historic venue" said Prock "Our non-conference schedule features three teams that qualified for the DII Tournament last season and five teams that won atleast 17 games. Buff Nation will be treated to high-level basketball in November during the D2CCA Tipoff Classic with 10 great teams making their way to Canyon."
Prock enters his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Buff Basketball program, holding a record of 65-35 during his time in Canyon with a pair of trips to the NCAA Division II Postseason including a South Central Regional Championship during his first campaign in 2021-22.
"The Lone Star Conference is one of the top leagues in the nation and this season is no different, those 22 LSC games will be a battle every time our young ladies step on the court" added Prock "We are very excited to play in the friendly confines of the First United Bank Arena 16 times this upcoming season. We are looking forward to seeing the best fans in the country this year and as always we appreciate everyone's support."
The Lady Buffs are scheduled to compete in a pair of exhibition contests prior to the start of the regular season as Wayland Baptist comes to Canyon on October 18thfollowed by a trip to Tucson, Arizona to take on the Arizona Wildcats at the McKale Center on October 25th.
WT opens the regular season at the First United Bank Center as they host the 2024 D2CCA Tipoff Classic with 10 institutions (five women, five men) making their way to Canyon to start the campaign. The Lady Buffs will take on Black Hills State (Nov. 1) and Harding (Nov. 3) with Adams State, Kutztown and Lubbock Christian also taking part in the event.
The Lady Buffs hit the road for the first time on November 8-9 as they take part in the South Central Regional Challenge in Odessa with matchups against Colorado Mesa and South Dakota Mines. UC Colorado Springs comes to Canyon on November 14thbefore a short trip to Portales to open LSC play against Eastern New Mexico (Nov. 23). The Lady Buffs will host a Thanksgiving Classic on November 29-30 in Canyon with games against Adams State and New Mexico Highlands as UTPB will also compete.
WT jumps back into league action at home against Cameron (Dec. 5) and Oklahoma Christian (Dec. 7) before a South Texas road trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville (Dec. 15) and Texas A&M International (Dec. 17), the Lady Buffs then head into the mandated NCAA holiday break.
The Lady Buffs open up 2025 at the First United Bank Center against Midwestern State (Jan. 3) and Lubbock Christian (Jan. 5) before traveling to Angelo State (Jan. 9) and UT Permian Basin (Jan. 11). Western New Mexico comes to Canyon on January 16 followed by a matchup against Sul Ross State, the newest member of the LSC, on January 18th. WT closes out the month on the road against Texas Woman's (Jan. 23), UT Tyler (Jan. 25) and Lubbock Christian (Jan. 30).
WT closes out their four-game road trip on February 1 in Wichita Falls against Midwestern State followed by a pair of home games with UT Permian Basin (Feb. 6) and Angelo State (Feb. 8). The Lady Buffs travel to Alpine, Texas on February 13 followed by a long drive to Western New Mexico (Feb. 15) before closing out the regular season with three straight home contests against St. Mary's (Feb. 20), St. Edward's (Feb. 22) and Eastern New Mexico (Feb. 27).
The Lone Star Conference Championships return to the Comerica Center in Frisco on March 5-8. The NCAA postseason takes place on March 13-16 with the South Central Regional Championships followed by the Division II Elite Eight (Mar. 24-28) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
